Different build?

Postby GTS225 » Mon Jun 03, 2019 9:59 pm

Ran across this on my T-bucket board. Thought it might garner a little attention on how things are done in the deep south. Have a look at the link, but don't expect to be overly impressed.

What caught my eye was his "recycling" of a junked VW Beetle, and how he turned it into a teardrop camper. I thought it was rather inventive.

Hmmmm. You got me to looking closer, and I think you're right. I missed the "dogleg" in that door outline that clears the fender and rear wheel opening.
The combination certainly does get the creative juices flowing, even if only as a mental exercise.

I've seen a jeep Cherokee XJ (minus front end) turned into a trailer being towed by a XJ.

The 2 around here kept the 4 doors, used sheemetal for windshield and rear side windows. Also smoothed the firewall.

I saw a video clip of a Landrover Defender turned into a trailer/camper. Chopped off at the firewall, it no longer leaks oil!
