Do you have a check list to share??

Postby Ron Dickey » Mon Aug 16, 2004 12:57 am

Hi,

I who do not as yet have a Teardrop trailer, went church camping this weekend. and I came home more tired then when I left.

I forgot the picknic basket and was poorly planned on where what was.

Here are far to many check lists I found on the Net.

I found non for the Teardrop trailer camper which has limited space, and this would also depend on the size of vehical is pulling it.

The OUTSIDER / Camping Gear Checklist
http://www.ozarks.net/~outsider/checklist/

this list is very long and the owner must have a diesel pusher RV

If worst comes to WORST ....

one site recommends

Vacation Precautions
Who to notify- When will you return. where did you go, what route, especially in rural areas, if your vehicle breaks down
off-road, do you have a two-way radio, cell phone, signal mirror, any idea what you would do?
The Security Checklist ... Make your own, list things to secure, put away, notify, etc. update it on your return.
The Neighbors- Consider what you tell them carefully, Does that teenager with no job, new car, stereo, etc. have a bunch of
buddies that like to break into neighbors homes? If you give or loan an Emergency KEY to your home, place it in an
envelope with your name signed on the seams of the envelope, and use of scotch tape, etc to detect if it has been used.

You may also set a camping trailer in a shallow hole. This reduces the "wind profile". If you have inside storage, all the
better but make sure it is a strong building.

and the lists go on.

but we must to forget the check the trailer check list too.

Maybe those of you who have been out a few thousand times have a list or an order that you can share.

I walked around camp saying next year I plan to make a teadrop trailer. And after this small quick camping trip I am ready.

Hi Ron,
My goodness...that's a lot of checklists!

We haven't camped for long periods of time so I haven't found that we need a checklist.

I liked the idea of the tear being mostly ready so we could just pack up some clothes and hit the road on short notice.

We keep alot of things inside the cupboards that we will need and never take them out. Lots of batteries, all the kitchen gear, fans, shampoo, soap, toothpaste, etc. All kitchen gear stays.

I've pretty much just had to make sure we fill the cooler, fill the water container, top off the main battery, pack up and go.

If one figures out what to keep in the teardrop permanently, it makes for a much smaller checklist when you leave for your trip.

Hey I better fix that list up then Chip if anybody actually looks at it! I had copied it from my wifes lists, but didn't finish organizing it...

Like Bev, we like to keep our tear ready to go at a moments notice. We have an underbunk storage area so I neve have clothes ready to go.... just pack the cooler and food box, toss the extra gear in that is always parked in the side of the garage and go!

Now if only we had more sunshine...
