What did you do today

Not today but yesterday... got the frame for one of my side walls done. Cut all the 1x3s for the other side wall, may put together today. Next step after that is figuring out how to tackle the roof spars. Do I notch out some of the wall framing and set the spars in, or do I just screw through the exterior wall?

I need to update my build journal today

Woke up and took these from our porch. Sometimes waking up is worth it!

This is what it looked like yesterday

We had two reasons not to go out!

Early afternoon, and much of it is already gone. Supposed to reach highs above 70 by Monday. Probably won't see another snow storm until Fall/Winter.

Working on another 1084 steel blade from the batch. This pattern is 7 3/8" LOA. The wood is called Bocote, it's from southern Mexico. I have a new batch of 5160 coming back from heat treat soon, they're a bit different, beefier & a bit more robust in design. Really enjoying the Bocote for a grip, beautiful grain, dense & solid, takes a nice finish as well.

Here's my pandemic project:

Image

It's a full-sheet capable CNC. I printed the plastic parts on my 3D printer. The stainless tubes came in a brown truck. I bought the electronics and hardware from the guy that designed it.

I had a 4' x 8' assembly bench in my shop and I finally figured out that I could replace it with this (56" x 111") platform and use it for both a CNC table and a general workbench.

The software has been a learning curve but it's starting to make sawdust.

p.s. and yes, if I ever have to build another 'drop, I'll leave my jigsaw on the shelf cut the walls out on this thing. :FNP

Decided to get rid of annoying tree to clear out for a big work shop I want to build. Rough day for this old guy. A few bruises and scratches. ImageImageImage

Never took a picture in the water, Used hard, fished 3.5 days a week and I worked 3.5 days a week for several years when the fishing was good;
Less then 1 ft of water on plain (8" ish), On plane in less then the length of the boat, & I took fishing guides. This picture is when I couldn't use it anymore after 12 years and had to sell it. :frightened:
Then splurged on my cnc, still burying it. putting my flat back together, Careful Tony that's another usable flat surface :lol: and have a blast.
