China parts on Ebay

Postby MickinOz » Mon Apr 13, 2020 6:56 pm

Has anyone resumed buying from China on Ebay or Aliexpress?
I would dearly love to use some nice little stainless steel vents for the cabin.
I try to buy Australian when I can, but the cost of these vents from Aussie suppliers is making them seem prohibitive.
I guarantee they'd be selling Chinese made items anyway.

On the other hand, the Chinese sell them in sets of 4 for not much more than the price of one here in Oz.

But the big question - are goods actually making it out of China and reaching their destination?
What has been the recent experience?

Most things seem to be arriving in more or less normal, for China, shipping time. I have had 6 orders for electronic parts or small devices ($30 and under) in the past 6 weeks. All have arrived except one which does seem to have got lost. No trace of it but that sometimes means little. It's a small e-packet. $5 value. In a week I'll file a claim with PayPal if it still has not arrived.

Thanks chaps. I decided to risk it and just ordered some vents.
We'll see what happens.
Now I've got to go off and read a blog about building a cabin up in the NM mountains.

I refuse to order anything from china these days. In fact I haven't ordered anything online during this whole debacle.
Was going to order a mattress through IKEA but they have completely shut down.
Can't even do the click/pick up at the local store.
Since im essential, I ordered foam at work.
Better quality and came that day.
I'll have to sew up the cover at work.
