Oh My! I Think I Found It!

Postby Dahlia47 » Wed Aug 05, 2020 10:58 am

:? :x
The search for fridge has taken a while. I think I FINALLY found one. Geez! Who knew there were so many different types of fridges and coolers!
Here's the link. If anyone has any info on this, let me know. The usual pros and cons. The space I have for it is approximately 22x15x15. So this will fit with room to spare and the reviews are very good!

This is the ONE thing I have had so much trouble finding. UGH!

Wow cheap!

which makes me suspicious.

but give it a go, even having to buy a new one every other year would be cheap, build up a supply of spare parts.

Let us know how it holds up!

Dahlia47,

The little fridge you posted about is a 9 liter model, so about 2.3 gal.
I could not find the dimensions for the actual cold storage compartment.
My guess is you might be disappointed by how small the cold storage space actually is.

Check the information carefully. I had a small "refrigerator" for my teardrop that was barely adequate. It only kept food at 20 deg below ambient temperature. If it was 75 outside the inside was about 55. Okay for lower temps but when it got near 100 it was useless.

I only plan to put a couple of things in. It's bigger than what I have now. The space I have for it, it needs to open from the top.

That would be a "chip cooler" aka Peltier effect, rather than a real 12V compressor fridge.

Very few work well in hot ambient temperatures, and they consume a lot of power, really only for use while driving.

If it is not a suitable unit, you are not saving money but wasting it.

Sometimes better to keep using a cooler and save your pennies a few month to get something better.

Not saying this unit sucks, I don't know anything about it.

Sometimes Engel or ARB go for cheap on CL, and can last longer than a brand new cheap offbrand.

A good cooler > cheap fridge.

Or buy from somewhere with a good return policy

AHH! The Mossimo model is supposedly made by the same company as the Cho model from what I have read. Someone made a comment about that on amazon, I saw that somewhere else as well. I'll have to check it out.

Never heard of either.

Such "brands" come and go over the years

Too many warranty claims and poof

My understanding is Dometic / Waeco now make 80% of such fridges sold worldwide, but only a small fraction of them have their own branding

It's a small compressor style frig. Price is equal to the size it is.

Oh, my. I've always hated the ice chest cooler with melted water sloshing around, so this would be an option and a good way to justify our annual COSTCO membership fee. We don't need anything really big. Plus, it has WHEELS!

Alpicool had a unit, where the LI battery was incorporated into the fridge
