There is a '46 Kenskill on Ebay, if anyone is interested. Needs a complete restoration. http://search.ebaymotors.com/ws/search/ ... otr=2&st=2

Honestly, I think that requires a complete rebuild. So you take off the nameplate, and throw everything else away. Build a new teardrop, and then put your $350 nameplate on it! Am I missing something? :?

Nice to see that I'm not the only one to have that problem with the bottom of the hatch.

Mike:

Is that an aluminum angle piece that the draw latch catch is mounted on? What size (thickness?) I'll need to do something similar for my hatch. I have the stainless steel draw latches from McMaster-Carr already.

Rik

P.S. It's fun to post responses to you simultaneously in multiple threads and watch you scramble to catch up.

Scrambling over here!!!

Yep, thats aluminum from home depot no less. It's 1" x 1/8" thick. I thought it might crack when I bent it, but it's doing just fine. I might try annealing it next time before I bend it.

Your turn to scramble!!! :D

P.S. Not every screw that looks like brass, is.

You'd want to keep the chassis also. So for the plate and chassis it's 350.00 now. Not too bad for someone in that area and who wanted to build a kenskill.
