Inside Cabinet Design, Construction & Finished Result Pictures Needed

Image
John (Micro469 Avatar)

John formulates the problem as the need for cabinet ideas and wrote:I was sitting in my 1/2 done trailer tonight, staring at the back wall trying to visualize cupboards or shelves there. I was trying to see how far out they should go, how low, how high, how many...etc...etc... when I realized we have a sticky for side profiles, and a Gallery Gallery. BUT... we don't have an area E.G. "sticky" for interior cupboards or layouts.. Would be nice to have... a visual manual of great ideas.....

Problem ... We would like to consolidate Teardrop interior design ideas:
We don't have a good selection of interior design pictures and construction
as John has sited. We do have the Galley pictures but we would like to have
the interior design idea section as well. Your ideas and help with input will
help us get some of the best designs in order for future use.

You can help if you have pictures, design & construction measurements of inside cabinetsImage
You can post here with as much data of design, best practice construction,
and pictures. You might suggest a hinge or a latch or some special
accommodation in your design as well.

We will try to corral these pictures and ideas into a pleasing order to help
people in the future get ideas of what they can do with the small space
inside their Teardrop trailer.

Thank you for supporting this effort in advance.
Your help is appreciated as we narrow down our search for good ideas
of design, pictures measurements and best practices.

Here's a shot of my interior cabinets prior to the top being installed.

What I did different than most is, I used a single sheet of baltic birch ply for the counter top in the galley and the bottom of my cabinets. There is no step up in cabinet height from galley to cabin.

Here is some pic's of mine. At the bottom is a raceway for running wires, mounting a stereo and running AC hoses to the vents.
During construction the wall was blocked for the mounting of the rear cabinets and then pocket screwed and glued to the wall. The front cabinet as well as the rear wall are in dado's in the wall and part of the torsion box.

Build the cabinet outside of the trailer, do all of the staining and finishing then mount it in the trailer.

OK, here they are. These pics were taken before I applied polyurethane to the interior.

Facing rear, 3 drawers and 2 cabinets, hinged at the top. The PVC elbow peeking out the bottom is part of the airconditioner drainage system.

Facing the front, the cabinets are hinged at the bottom. The top is a nice place to put keys, change, flashlight, etc.

this post has inspired me to build a cabinet for the cabin, then when I finish that I will build a cabinet in the galley(just have curtain nows). The cabin will be 2 doors with an open space in the middle, underneath will be 2 drawers with a hidden stereo in the middle. one question I have is what size plywood to use for the doors and drawer fronts(3/4 or 1/2). I know my lumber yard has 3/4 oak but not sure of 1/2.
Thanks
