I measured them and it opened 6in at the bottom. It's opened as far as it will go in the picture. There are 2 arms that slide on a track, they push the window out. There is a piece of plastic that limits the travel, you could cut the plastic for another inch or two. Capt Dan did this to his.

Thanks, I hope so, I figure that we can use the a/c when we have shore power and the vent when running off battery.
