Getting a bit closer to finishing. I only get to work on it for a couple hours after work per day. I getting the feeling that's all I do. I put the trim tape around the frames around the inside of the cabinets and varnished it with three coats. I then remounted the doors. I hope there's room to close the galley hatch.

Image
The Fantastic vent is installed.

Image
The diamond plate is on and I'm part way through putting the seals under the railing.

Image
Tail lights are on. They are for a 49 or 50 Chevy. It still needs to be wired.

There is still a ton of work to do, I hope I get it done by July 4th weekend. 8)

Looks great!

As fast as you work, I bet you will "finish". Keep in mind they are rarely ever completely finished. There is always something else you want to do.

If you are installing cabinet hardware, don't forget to make sure that it doesn't come in contact with the hatch. I almost made that mistake on my lower cabinet doors. I got lucky on the vertical spars but not with a horizontal cross piece. I had to install the knobs a little high of center to get it to work.

Thanks Sharon, that's the idea i wanted to use.

I will be close with the cabinets and I may not even put hardware on them if it won't fit. I may have to keep some of them closed with magnet closures. The hinge springs are not tight enough.

Took the Chevy to the levy and the radiator almost went dry. On top of everything else I now have to pull that and get it fixed. It wont last pulling a TD up some of the hills I'm planning to take.

I may need to get some galley latches from Grant to lock it down. The rest of the build will be easy, I hope. :NC I still have to make some drawers put on the counter top and install all the interior trim parts. It may go on it's maiden voyage without it being done and I'm sure it will be fine. The only critical thing now is making sure that the galley hatch doesn't leak and the tail light work. Oh yea, I still need to instal a hitch onto the 52 and wire it for towing and electric brakes. Good thing I converted it to 12 volts. I have to be done with everything in two weeks as well as get my place ready for a family reunion. :? Did I mention I work full time?

I put in a full day on the TD and got a fair amount done. I am
resigned to the fact that it wont be completely done before I take it on a trip.

I was able to adjust the galley hatch so it actually fits right! I had to trim about a half inch off the bottom. I will have to put some trim on it to keep the weather out and the skin tight.

Winding the project down, only a few more details left to do. Things like the battery box, trim all the seams inside and the galley, a latch for the galley door then skin it and magnet latches for all the doors. I also need to build a couple drawers and finish wiring the 110v circuits. I may take it camping without doing everything.

I will haul it to the DMV later this week to get it regrestered.

I have to get a new radiator for the 52 or I won't be taking it.

Man that turned out great!

Do you have some type of black seal under the aluminum trim?

Thanks Campin Texan. There is a layer of black seal under all that trim. I'm using a lot of that stuff. I do have fuzzy dice in the 52. Not a bad idea for the TD. I'm thinking that I may put a Jelly Belly decal on it! one of my friends couldn't rember "tear drop" so she called it a jelly bean. It kinda fits. :wine:

For the battery hooked up and the box secured today and did a little wiring on the 110. It is all functional now. Still a ton of details to finish up on. Once I install the hatch latches I'm good to go camping. :applause:

Installed the tow hitch receiver yesterday with a little (big) help from my friend Tim.

Worked on the electrical today. Don't worry, it will all tuck back and look good. I installed an isolatolr and a couple of circuit breakers. Monday eve I will finish it up and test it.
