What a cool combo !!

I originally built our TD to tow behind my 1963 Ford Taunus Transit bus, but plans have changed and I am now looking for an American truck or car to run it with.
Greetings from England.

Rian.

Hoping to get it all done in time.

Ray – are your doors manufactured/prebuilt? Love to hear more about them.

I got the doors from Little Guy, it was the first thing I bought. Installation was seamless, cut the hole, screwed it on. There was the sealant between the door and the outside skin that I used, in retrospect I should have used black instead of the grey. Black disappears against the black frame and the Kandy color.

I found your hitch!!

I know i have that cross member for the frame but what do you have it welded to right behind the bumper? I could swear that is just my trunk floor liner.....

FYI - I love that you used the 50 tail lights on your TD (The 49 taillight lens does not stick out, it basically sits flush with the bezel).

I bolted a piece of angle iron using the bumper bolts. Fabricated a couple more pieces as brackets then welded them to a receiver I got at the local RV supply. Painted it and it works great!

Oh that makes way more sense than attaching it to the rear splash pan or the floor of the trunk.

Thanks for the great input!

OK, it's been a while since I posted an update so here goes.

I installed a shelf on the interior with the help of a biscuit cutter and clamps I borrowed from a neighbor.

The hatch skin went on in an afternoon. It will come back off again when I stain the birch to look like oak and then insulate under it. I did all the wiring for the running lights and the license plate light.

I wanted a waterproof porch light but the ones I got from the RV supply were just too thick. I stopped by a marine supply place and there they were, all covered with dust. They must have been sitting on the shelf for years. The price tag was $89 each. I asked the owner how much they really wanted for them. I got them both for $20.
