My Weekender-XL passed the Hurricane test

Thought I would share a picture I took of Hurricane Irma giving my camper a wind test. I estimate the wind was about 70-80 mph when I took this picture. I got a great opportunity to see how the aerodynamics of the frontal construction worked. The wind flowed around the camper evenly over the top and the bottom. I added one small concrete block to the tongue and she never budged, even when the 100mph eye of the storm went through. Thankfully, 10" of wind blown rain never touched the inside, either. That exterior roof of lapped PVC shower panel sheeting works better than I had hoped. - I had just returned from a month long trip to the Midwest, just 10 days before Irma hit SW Florida- just in time to batten down the hatches. The eye of the hurricane passed only 20 miles away from our house. --click image for a full size picture.

Given how light these are that is really amazing.

by working on it
'Tis a shame you don't have a "hurricane hinge" on your hatch (I think you don't); this would've been ideal weather for a true test of one.
