Weatherproofing the bottom edge of plywood siding

I am planning on extending the 1/2" plywood siding down the side of the frame. this will leave the bottom edge exposed to the elements. Looking for suggestions on how to handle the bottom edge. This will be a woody, so there will be a wood skirt board along the bottom as well.

I think your only issue would be cosmetic. Elastomeric is the key!

. I’m not well versed in epoxy to know if caulk will adhere to the epoxy very well.

Once sealed with epoxy --that wicks into the wood fibers-- there is no need to caulk. The surface has been plasticized.

If you can't resist the caulk gun (and why not use a good polyurethane sealant instead?) run 80 grit sandpaper over the epoxyed surface to give it some tooth. But not too much.
