Hi, I have read a bunch of stuff online about steel and SS screws corroding aluminum after some time. What type of screws/coating do you recommend for attaching stuff to aluminum and where did you get them? This is for a cargo trailer conversion. The trailer frame and exterior are all aluminum. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Best regards,
Kevin

3M 5200, Sikaflex 292, or the right VHB tape for permanent bonds

4200 or Sikaflex 291 if you think you might ever need to undo.

My day job is building all aluminum truck bodies and trailers. We use standard zinc plated screws for our tek type fasteners, mostly aluminum rivets, plated steel monobolts and huck bolts. Door hardware is always stainless. Anything steel gets isolated with duct tape or tyvek before install.
Coatings are always urethane caulk, urethane fleet automotive finishes after sanding and a chemical etch/de-ox.
