Tongue box layout

Postby Mountainhwy4 » Mon Mar 30, 2020 11:42 am

How does everyone have their tongue box laid out? I’m planning on mounting the fuse block/master fuse/master switch to a board and securing the board to the wall of the tongue box, but should I drill through the box to secure the board to the wall?

I’ll also have the battery in there, mounted on a separate board on the floor of the box.

Any other useful things I should be putting in the box? I figured having the chocks in there would also be useful.

Not that I've ever actually thought that on a trip.... /s

We have three things in our tongue box:

- battery
- inverter charger
- all wiring connections and disconnect switches

We put out connections on terminal blocks screwed to a piece of wood, and then screwed the wood right through the tongue box, the same as your are planning.

I had to drill a few holes in my box but for the most part I used heavy duty Velcro to attach the wood liner to the metal walls of the box.
