Adding Wood Skin to Factory Doors

Has anyone ever added a wood skin such as 1/8" birch to the interior of their factory doors? I was thinking it would match my interior a lot better than the white plastic that it currently has.

It seems like the two options for doing so would be to glue the 1/8" on top of the plastic panel or to remove the plastic panel and replace it with 1/8".

Thanks for the input!

I have not. I figured I would take the "free" route with some leftover 1/8" if I still have some near the end of my build.

The plastic panel on the side is glued to the foam. You would destroy it trying to get it off.

You best cheap bet would be to find something like a vinyl shelf liner or something similar with a wood grain and sticking it on.
