Ouch... it says the maps are going into retirement... what are my options?

Does that mean it goes away for good on Dec 31, 2010?

Mike...

I've been using YahooMaps at work to map a number of things, it's quite simple to do something similar, and it is free to use (GoogleMaps is also free to use).

Conceptually speaking:
-The map is on mikenchell.com not a 3rd party site.
-Tie to a user's profile settings -a checkbox to 'add me to the T&TTT world map'.
-Use the profile picture (avatar) to put a face on the map.
-Tie to the hall of fame so the teardrops can be mapped too.
-Link the Hall of Fame to user profile
-Link a user's album to the map
    -Display a larger map.
    -Keep it free of advertisements.
    -Have design control over it.
    -Have functional control over it.
-Link to an events calendar to show upcoming gatherings
    -etc.

I just found this part of the forum, and am wondering if it is still
an option or did it "go away" ??

Frapper.com went away. We'll have to look for another option...

Just checked it out. Yep, that'll work! Someday when I have time I'll set up one over here.

BTW, I notice you have a pin for both Chell and I! And they are not in the same place. But I know, it's not your fault. They probably just do that so you can see both pins!

Actually, I am not the keeper of that map and have not really even looked at it much.

:pictures: As a new member the number of broken links in posts referring us readers to other resources (i.e. Tales & Trails/Teardrop Times and members' build photos) is tedious as my Windows 10 Lenovo laptop has seen better days. As gluttons for info us newbies (at least I do) tend to look at a ton of stuff in the short term trying to get a sense of what we don't know and collect some promising mentors (Oregon Batman has already helped me out pre-membership) and avenues for study. For instance, building little airtight-against-the-Canadian-cold campers can turn into mobile coffins was a point I had not considered before. Maybe I have been particularly unlucky but I have found a number of links not working or directing to non-existent targets. Even some of the pinned topics have bad links.

My computer science major days are some 44 years behind me but I have to believe that someone has written some kind of crawler maintenance program (y'all say "app" now doncha ;) ) that can find and at least flag if not fix those links.
