[Solved] Email notification mystery

Postby mikeschn » Mon Feb 20, 2012 8:52 pm

But that doesn't make it any easier... It seems that the reason folks are not getting their notifications, is because their ISP is using a spam blocker, that is keeping out emails from getting thru.

I have Comcast for example, and none of my notifications are getting through. It wasn't until I switched to aol.com and yahoo.com and gmail.com that things started working again.

I've gone in and changed the forum's email address to [email protected]

I don't know if that is going to help. You guys need to let me know.

Comcast still doesn't work.

Any suggestions out there?

Mike:

I have my own email server, with no spam blockers at all, so I'm thinking you haven't solved the mystery yet. I just uninstalled PhpBB from my site a couple weeks back, so unfortunately I can't look at what I had set up for you to compare to what you have set up.

On a lighter note, I sent you a PM.

 ..... so, what's the verdict on why I'm not getting notifications (other than nobody replys or nobody cares about my posts)?
Anybody else have problems? I went in and re-entered my notification email address, which is a @frontier.com (formerly Verizon). I really don't want to use my hotmail account nor my government account. I'm not ranting, but it does look like you're working on it. Just thought it was me at first.?.
I know, I know,.....

Whitney,

I just checked, and your ISP has a spam blocker too. The notification arrived just fine when using aol.

That's good news! you might have to white list [email protected] to keep that out of your spam folder.
