Instead of 5-10 seconds to load a page it takes 2-3 seconds. Very snappy! Thanks Mike!!!

Yes, the hall of fame is not up yet. They are working on it!

Are there any other areas that are not up yet?

The only thing that slows down the forum is the rotating hall of fame pictures - while most are just fine - some seem to take a long time to load on the page. I have noticed this on certain pictures that were loading - sometimes about three minutes! A quick remedy is to just hit the refresh button and it would be back to speed again - bypassing the offending picture. However, this is NOT a forum issue but rather a server(or size) issue from the person hosting the picture as it get delivered to the headder.

Correct. If someone uploads a huge 14 megapixel picture which is then scaled (but not resized) to fit the HOF box, your browser still has to download that huge picture before it can move on to the next one. Obviously we prefer smaller photos, i.e. 200 x 150 or even 640 x 480. But not everyone knows how to resize the picture. If someone knows of a really large photo like that, let me know and I'll see what I can do.

The other problem is that sometimes the photo websites that some folks use will slow down if the usage is high. This will also cause the HOF page to load slowly. There is nothing we can do about that, except suggest that folks upload their images to the forum gallery. Now that the server is faster, using the gallery should be painless! :D

Upgrade was worth the time - much faster now.

And just in time - finally got my axle so it's getting close to time for sawdust to fly.

Much faster!

What's up with the time. I am showing about 5 hours difference between what the board says and what my local time is. (Eastern time)

Oh no!!! Not again! That's going to mess up the posts for 5 hours!

I'll ask them to reset the time at 4:00 AM tomorrow morning! :?

Nah, just tell everyone that the new server is somewhere in the mid- Atlantic for tax reasons :)
