Any experience Towing with a Mini Cooper Clubman?

Postby RockinRobin2 » Tue Dec 31, 2013 12:05 am

Greetings! Being new at this I want to ask you experienced folks if you can help me. I am searching for a td to tow with my mini cooper and want to know if any of you have any experience with Mini and teardrop campers, any problems with the weight of the td you've encountered. Thanks for your input. Happy New Year

Hi RockinRobbin2,

Welcome. There a some on here who do tow with the Mini. Do the
Google Custom Search [It only searches the forum.], located at the
bottom of the header, and use something like "mini as tow vehicle",
or such terminology, and just check out a few of the links that look
promising.

Might I suggest that you also do an introductory post in the 'Newbies' section
and re-ask your question there. This thread is more about questions about
the forum and isn't necessarily checked out as often as the Newbie and General
threads are. Most just introduce themselves there and then transition their
questions to the General or other threads that may seem more appropriate
to get the answer or info needed.

Happy New Year too !

Cheers,
Norm/mezmo

Search for an itv cookery series called "Ade in Britain". He used a mini to drag around a teardrop.

April 1st Mini released pictures of a regular mini "optioned" with a matching teardrop, a roof top camper (ala VW bus), and a clubman camper. Built light (foamie) any car (smart) can tow a camper, little guy makes Tears that motorcycles and any small car can tow.

A bit of an odd coincidence. We are using the same user name, and I sold my 4 by 8 Pleasant Valley to a couple here in Texas who is towing it with a Mini. The empty weight on the 4 by 8 was just a bit over 700 pounds. No problems reported. I do not think they are on this forum. Ronnie :)

Hi, we have towed with a MINI Cooper for years. We have a Cooper S and if it pulls o.k. I feel the Clubman would also. We bought our Cooper S in 2002 and decided on a Tear Drop since we needed a camper we could pull with it. It has been great. We have pulled it through many states, put a lot of miles on it and never had a minutes trouble. Our son also pulls a Tear Drop with his Cooper S. We would certainly recommend it. If we can be of any help please contact us.
