Maybe you need to sweep the mouse right to left when a smiley starts the quote :NC

:? I'm not sure if I want to say thanks or not. I'm having a hard enough time keeping up with the ever changing computer technology. ;)

capnTelescope, I have never seen it done that way. I thought the norm was to either hit the reply and get a fresh compose wundow or hit the quote button and have the entire quote appear in the compose window. I wonder if that is an intentional feature or simply a quirk? Or my brain does not work in that manner?

I tried that thing capnTelescope mentioned on a different forum; different software. It did not work on the other software. FWIW.

You're welcome, just the same. :R

I hadn't either. I just tried it one day and it worked! :dancing

I'll put my money on intentional feature. Speaking as an ex-programmer/analyst, cool features like that don't just happen by accident.

I seem to remember that happening to me somewhere else, too. It kinda teed me off that I couldn't. :(

We have a really nice forum setup here, IMHO. Thank you, Mike and the rest of the sysops. :applause:

Um. Now that everyone understands what I was doing and there's less confusion, can anyone fix my problem with Chrome?

I just tried your "reply" with "quote" use method in Chrome and the smiley cde is lost, just as you have experienced.

However when I just click on the quote button everything including the smiley is presented as a quote in a new compose window.

Just what all that means is hard to say. A chrome quirk? :NC :NC
