My build is finally done. A 7 x 10 x 6'2" trailer on a 13 ft frame sitting on a 3500 lb. axle. It weighs in at just under 1800 lbs, which is more than a TD, but it has more space. It is skinned with RV grade FRP that I got from a guy whose dad owned a RV mfg that closed. The roof is 24 gauge metal roofing, so it should last a while. The walls are 2 x 2 framing with 1" foam board insulation, the roof and floor have 1.5" of foam board in them. The Thermoply sheathing is watertight, the corners and roof edges of the frp are sealed with Dicor Corner Seal tape and the diamond plate edge trim has butyl tape on the edge of each leg and Dicor non sag in the corner of each leg. The flat strips on the seam are sealed with Dicor non-sag. I'm happy with the finished product, but I'm not sure that I would do another build with FRP. I have one spot on the sun facing side that "bubbles" during the 100 degree heat, then lays flat as soon as the sun is off of it. I suppose that is better than having it crack. We have have several violent rain storms and I'm happy to say that the trailer has stayed dry through all of them. There is a residential full size bed up front with a ton of storage underneath it. I also made a 4 ft pull out drawer to hold the most often used things that would be stored under the bed. There is a 2 person dinette with storage under each seat. There are 5 ft of upper and lower cabinets on the driver's side. The upper is storage and has a 5k BTU AC built in. The lower has storage and a 2.6 cu.ft. frig built in. There is a cold water sink as well. AC and frig run off 110v, the interior led lights run off of a 35 watt solar panel and a 20 amp hr battery.. I took it out on the road yesterday and towed it for about 60 miles. it towed great. This one needs to sell because the wife wants a "tiny house" travel trailer.

LOVE IT!!! I wish I had done my a/c like you did yours. Sitting in the cabinet. Mine sits low and in the back of the cabinet. I just may have to bring it forward a bit.

Dahlia47 -

If you do bring the ac unit forward, be sure that you isolate the exhaust air from the fresh air intake. I made a small duct of polyiso foam board to force the exhaust out the sidewall of the trailer. I used a standard residential attic vent on the roof of the trailer to let fresh air in.

I specifically came here to ask about the exhaust and fresh air intake! Thank you!
I am finding out that some rv parks dont allow window a/c units. I havent bothered to ask any of them why. If anyone knows, inform me. :) I may be able to get away with it, if I bring it inward. I dunno, ill find out.

Thank you! :)
