If I am not far enough along to bring "The Salty Tear" with me can I show up with tent and sleeping bag? I'd like to be a part of this epic event. :D

Sure can, I asked the same question, since I haven't started mine yet. You need to register for the event before you can get a campsite reservation. I registered in January and there were about 100 people already registered. The campsites with electricity were all full, so I am in the overflow area. Should be a great time!

Looks like I'll be going also - one way or another... I'll register for a tent-site and change later if needed. Looking forward to it!! Also, PDART70 is working to organize a Missouri get-together - anyone interested please check out the NorthCentral area forum and post a reply. No date yet..

Just out of curiosity, what is this registration fee about and where does it end up?

Has anyone thought of contacting The Travel Channel, any of the trailer or car magazines to let them know about this event. It seems that the programs that they show about teardrop trailers are so popular that they would be interested in doing a show about the ITTG.

Keith, I think that is such a great idea, I sent an e-mail suggesting it to "Made In America with John Ratzenberger". I hope I wasn't stepping on anyone's toes or putting my nose where it doesn't belong...

All the answers are at

Basically it looks like $10 to register, then your choice of either $5 or $7.50 a night.

In addition, you can get a 4 day pass to all the attractions in Pioneer Village for $9. If you think you'll have time for that.

Even beyond the fun of getting a whole bunch of Tear Droppers together, I think some of the best fun is going to be convoying to the event. It's going to be a 4 day parade of fun! WhooHoo! :)

Greetings from Colorado!

The question was asked, “what is this registration fee about and where does it end up? ”

Simply put, it takes time and money to coordinate an organized event such as the International Teardrop Gathering. The registration fee goes toward covering those costs. Items such as postage, telephone calls, printing costs, porta-pottie rentals and door prizes to name a few.
