State of the RV industry

This topic has popped up occasionally on tnttt. I just viewed this recent video. Not a surprise.

Lehto is too long-winded and takes too long to get to the point. He does this with everything.
He needs to provide a summary at the beginning that makes you want to wade through the rest of his rambling.

But, yes, quality is currently exceptionally bad.

I have heard too many stories. But, I have a fresh one:

My brother knew better, but had "extra" cash and couldn't resist buying a new 'ultra-light' a few months ago (something that he swore he would never do again - his last two 'ultras' were utter garbage heaps).
First trip around the block, two door latches fell out of the doors.
First camping trip, two door rails (sliding/"pocket" doors) ripped out and dropped the doors to the floor.
Second camping trip (which I attended), one of the cabinet frames supporting a bunkbed collapsed, door seals delaminated, cabinet trim fell off, a seat bottom collapsed (inset and held in place by finishing nails, instead of sitting on top of supports...), the fridge stopped running on AC, and one of his 'fenders' was ripped off at 65 mph highway speed.

This new trailer has fewer than 300 miles on it.

It is all covered by warranty, and will be repaired after hunting season. But what good is a warranty if they are just going to scab it back together with the same garbage?... (The movie "Tommy Boy" and the 'guaranteed box of crap' comes to mind.)

I will be staying in this trailer from 9/28 to 10/3 (possibly to 10/5), due to a UDOT-negligent road hazard causing notable damage to my tent trailer (on the way home from the aforementioned second camping trip with the 'ultra-light').
Wish me luck. :frightened:
