Will you guys really be 'racing' or more of a 'pacing' to survive?

I see better than her.

Oh, is this a team effort? I did not realize that you were 'sharing' laps.

yes we are riding as a co-ed pair.

At least that will give you a chance for some rest then.

yes.. I am hoping that will help some... it might be easier to keep up on hydration... and just getting a little break might be nice. The last race.. we had some food / water stops.. but I did not like stopping long.

well.. I have no idea what is in the tank... and this being our first time.. I don't know what will happen out there. There are some people in my class that will be super fast...and they are experienced at this stuff.. so I don't think I need to even think about them. Others I don't know.

The race is long enough... that I don't have to worry about leaving anything in the tank.. after a few laps I will know the course...

with the race duration being of time vs a set distance... one can more push the limits in the last 6 hours or so.. [if I last that long] you can wring out every drop.. fairly easily. If after 23 hours.. I just can't do more.. then that is our finish. If one times it correctly the race is can actually be a little over 25 hours. but the way it is set up.. if I try to squeeze in a last lap under that time.. and I don't make it.. then my results is based on the last lap completed.

for a given distance.. this loop has about 30% more climbing the last race... :o

I wish I had bought that lower gear range now...

Not sure that I understand that, but maybe after you finish and explain how you did, etc, then it might make more sense to me!

Last race.. I had to much left in my legs at the finish. I was semi saving myself for a hilly section I had been told about. Also not really ever knowing how much distance we had left to race.. I sort of saved myself. One wants to be able to finish.. you don't want to blow up... and not to be able to do that.

This race.... for one I will know the course. It has changed from what we rode last year.. or even from what we rode a month or so ago.. but after a few laps I should have an idea what is coming.... and I can push it.... the goal is to ride a further distance than your competitor... As long as Laurie and I each ride one lap.. we have officially completed the race.

one can ride closer to their edge.. and if you blow up... you can end it when ever you want.

OK, now that makes more sense to me. I hope you have enough to finish the whole 24-hours and do it in style!! :D

I am trying to decide if I want to run an errand for my wife first or go riding first. The place I need to go for the errand does not open until 9 and it is about 15-20 min drive each way!

I think it will be ride, then mow, then errand maybe!!
