Back for now...

Things that don't fit anywhere else...

Back for now...

Well I am back from the abyss once again. I was in the hospital this time to have my plastic knee replaced. The old one was starting to deform.
Must be the 297 pounds of lard it has to support. Well at least my weight is down from 321.
97 more pounds and I will be the ideal weight.
Now that I have my own garage I can finally get back to work on my 53 Chevy, and then get the trailer in to the garage to start my teardrop.
Huzzah!

Shrug,

Glad to hear you are back in action, and good to know I'm not the biggest guy on here!

I'd like to see pictures of the '53. I'm also into street rods. Got a '38 chevy coupe and a '32 Ford roadster all covered in saw dust right now.

Hey Shrug,

Glad your feeling better, how's the new knee doing? The doctor's are telling me I need them, just haven't convenced me yet. They are telling me that they are good for 10years, I'm 52, wouldn't even get me into retirement! How long did your's last?

Well let me see now... I got out of the Air Force in '85 and I had my motorcycle a year later. So this one held out for 19 years. Not too bad. They told me this new one is some sort of new composite material and should last for 30+ years.
All I can say is thank goodness for health insurance. It turns out this was a $6800.00 procedure. My co-pay was $150.00!
Woohoo!

Dave,
I'm self-employed too and been buying my own health insurance for 10 years or so. Over the years I have swithced between Unicare, Fortis, and Blue Cross. They have been fine and reasonably priced. You have to switch every few years because the premiums start to creep up and you can get "new" insurance cheaper. Shop around and try to fend off all the calls from NASE (Natl Assoc for Self Emp).
