Yaa But...
...Just a little over one half of us have posted messages, 345 to be exact.
(That's where I came up with the 300+ goal)
Almost half of us are lurkers, so if we would've been able to get a mass emailing out there....who knows?
Hey... 42 for one guy parading around in a billboard wasn't bad.
(Sorry if the billboard thing was getting a little annoying)

Should there be a member purge? One board I visit has a policy that if there are no posts in 60 days, you get the boot. I think it's a little excessive, maybe 6 months would be right.

It's a little annoying because I have to re-register on occasion, even though I've been there before the moderators and admins. You have to do what you have to do. If they need to make space, I'm cool with that.

This is Mike's site, so you'll have to ask him about that, but I can give you some interesting info....
Glen Smith and I recently became co-admins on the boat building site we belong to. Prior to this, the board was basically adminless. It was hacked twice and had to be started over from ground zero. Yes the owner was the admin but never seemed to have the time to devote to it. Glen and I discovered that several "members" were simply joining so they could add a link to porn sites. (where they listed "their" websites)
We deleted all off them and we still delete 4-5 per week now. We decided to leave the "lurkers" alone because some of them lurk for up to 2-3 years sometimes before they get around to building their boat, at which time they usually start asking questions.
When Glen and I first discovered the problem with those certain "members", I talked with Mike about it and he said that he's never had that problem here. (I assume that's because of the constant online admin presence)

Actually, that's outstanding. 10% is usually the norm for posters in a given forum.
