Those are interesting links.

I found this one interesting with the free camping at Walmart. Has anyone ever camped in a Walmart parking lot?

I have a relative with a '5th wheel' camper who does it all the time... But, that is self contained and big.... not sure I'd feel real secure in a dark parking lot in a tear in the middle of the night...

They also give free coffee in the morning. Or at least the two that I've stay'd at. Most of the time, your not alone. The RV's that stop over pretty much park together (same area). At one Walmart, a security guard even told me what light pole to park by because there was an elec. box at the base that I could plug into.

Have a good day,

We used the Walmart parking lot when we had our bus and had no problems most all have security cameras in lot. Several years ago we had someone killed by the river not far from Walmart in North Platte they checked the cameras and found the guys picture when he walked across the parking lot got the guy the next day. We also have stayed at Flying J parking lot it's OK you may need ear plugs lots of truck and car noise.

I understand that members of the Elks Club can use their parking lots across the County too. I did spot a couple RV's at WalMart in Woodland CA this weekend, I could not tell if they were plugged in.
Occasionally local ordinance's prohibit overnight stay's at Walmart, it is best to check with the staff when you get there.
