:worship: Mikes sister was put in the hospital Yesterday with liver failure. They don't seem real sure why she is so sick. Right now they are waiting for a biopsy but it doesn't look good. They are already talking transplant. Kelly is a special person with a big heart. We sure appreciate you all!

Well...keep up the prayers. Just came from the hospital a minute ago and my sister is still there. She seems better, but she must have a rare disorder. Mayo Clinic flew a specialist down to our hospital to help her doctors. The have her on mega doses of steroids and some kind of new antibiotic that is like a $100.00 per pill. She is still yellow as a gourd, and they have done a liver biopsy and a bone marrow biopsy. They say it is not cancer, and her liver is not necrotic, but that it is some kind of autoimmune disorder. Her body is destroying red blood cells as fast as she can make them. And her potassium level is almost non-existent and her billirubin is 44 ml/Dl. Fromm what I understand, normal is about 2.5. They have been IVing potassium into her as fast as they can....I think she is on her 16th or 17th bag. Also IVing plasma.
They think it is a rare type of autoimmune hepatitis with some type of infection to go along with it. They seem stumped, which is why the specialist flew in. Sooooo.....please keep praying. Thanks.

Although I don't post on this thread often, I do send prayers when I read a post that requests them. I strongly believe in the power of prayers.

 Thank you all so much for your prayers and wishes. They are very much appreciated.

We don't know anything positive yet. Most of what we do know is filtered so not even sure about it. Kelly and her husband have had a rough go of it and a long road to go. I am afraid the decisions aren't getting any easier.

Blessings to you all :worship:

Just know that we are all praying for Kelly.

And, for all the others who are suffering physically, emotionally and financially, our prayers are with you.

Oh, my signature means nothing...I was messing with those guys going camping with me in February.

Becca,
Please put Grant on your list.
He's down and I mean down with a back problem... Thinks he might've blown out a disk. He can't even get on the computer right now, is going to have Lisa answer all his email.
The hospital sent him home with some good drugs to make the pain almost tollerable, but now he's waiting in limbo for paper work to go through so he can find out just what's really going on. :worship:

+2. Speedy recovery Grant! We certainly know how very painful that one is.

Update: Kelly was released from the hospital and is getting better able to move around and think clearly. We are so very grateful for every day with her. Your prayers are very appreciated...... :worship:
