Kudos to Coleman

Just got the Coleman 54 Quart Stainless Steel cooler for my teardrop that I bought off of eBay. The auction described it as returned merchandise that might have "minor scratches and imperfections". Here is the imperfection:

Slightly more than minor I'd say, the lid is murdered but the rest of the cooler is pristine. I called Coleman on their 800 number and explained my problem asking how much a new lid would cost. They offered to send me a new lid no charge. I have just become brand-loyal and will buy nothing but Coleman coolers in the future.

Yikes !

Who sold it to you like that?

Great of Coleman to offer a new lid!

We have that cooler. Its pretty nice... tad retro which is a plus. It is decent at retaining ice.. better than the cheap plastic coolers, but not as effecient as the new 5-6 day coolers. On the plus side also is that it holds a lot for its size.

Not sure how you re-attach a new lid though. I believe it uses rivets on the hinges.

Sam,

Glad you are getting a new lid from Coleman as you shure need one. Don't think I'd leave positive feedback on that one!

Had a Coleman water jug . It was on the running board of a 50,000lb.tug for a 747. It fell off and was absolutly flattened. Put the remains in an envelope and returned it to coleman as a joke. 4 weeks later a box showedmup with a new one in it. They will continue to gat all of my camping gear bidness

Years ago my kid barfed in a Coleman sleeping bag. Maybe I'll send it in...

you can be certain that I looked inside VERY carefully when I got it. Can't imagine what the warranty person thought when he opened the envelope. Of course, the picture I included of the B 747 nosewheel on top of the jug could have helped!
