Postby Steve E » Sun Feb 08, 2009 10:47 pm

It's the New Year...How many of us have packed on a few pounds and want to get out there and start exercising for the "health of it"......
Who's wanting to join in and sign in every day by 8:00 PM with some form of exercise they did that day....Maybe with the support of each other we can get healthier and shed a few lbs. to have more sleeping room in our tiny travel trailers....Lets's see how many of us can post starting tomorrow and see what happens in a full week!!!!!! Ready set....GO!!!!!!!

Ok this is our excersise for this morning.

At 0630 Finnish Local time we went for an 8 kilometer hike into the forests withour camping buddy Una the Samoyed Girl.

Feels nice after it also for the both of us. ;) Fresh winter air in the forest.

Let's see this week, I went salsa dancing Tues, Thurs, Fri, Sat. and just got home tonight Sunday. Does that count?
Why just dance, when you can Salsa!

Mine's the same every day.

Walk the Dogs around Callihan Mt.

According to my https://www.virginhealthmiles.com/contactus/ GoZone pedometer it's 3.1 miles around the Mt. My Health Insurance pays $300 annually to participants. I walk twice a day most days.

One day temp was 9 F. with gust up to 25 mph. -- that was FUN.

Elevation change 400ft. (both ways   )

Bears, coyotes, possums, coons, squirrels, rabbits, copperheads, rattlers,
deer, hogs, etc.

Beats heck out of jogging through a dadblamed Sub Division.

Yeah, one of these days I'm gonna get back to work on my TTT.

I play Ultimate Frisbee twice a week, which equals out to about 3-4 hrs weekly.

Now if only I could stop eating so much yummy food, I'd lose some weight.

Earlier this afternoon I did a 1hour and 40 min mountain bike in the snow with slow tough conditions.

and We just got back from a little over an hour and a half snowshoe. The snow shoe normally would have been further.. but some of my group wanted an easier night, and I was pretty tired from the ride.

Doing this with others.. makes it easier to not blow it off for the night.. because you are too tired... or it is too cold. It also makes it more fun, and at times more competitive.

doesn't take too much. We got a dog about 2 months ago. he has us trained for 3 walks a day, not very far, just around a couple blocks. I've dropped about 10 lbs.

If you have a dog, don't just let them out in the back yard. take them out, you'll meet a few neighbors along the way.

I try to walk whenever I can, and I have adjusted my diet. More whole grains, less garbage and sugar. I'm convinced that I have a sugar addiction, and I feel different now that I have been staying away from it.
Lost a couple of pounds so far, but I will be much more active as the weather gets warmer.

Today was beautiful day in Northern California in the foothills below the Sierras. Last night it rained here and snowed in the Sierras and today sky was clear and brisk out.
I tore Steve away from his shop this afternoon where he is intently working on his Scotty rebuild and we did our daily walk. Steve has bad knees so some days he rides his bike and some days he walks part way and then rides bike part way. We go for an hour and 15 minutes and are going at a pretty good clip so feels like enough to us.
Keep the posts coming as fun to hear what everyone likes to do..... :)

today is more of a recovery day. I have spend 10 minutes of riding one of my exercise bikes [I have an upright, as well as a recumbent today was the recumbent] I also rowed for 10 minutes on my rowing machine.

I was going to try jumping rope again.. but I don't seem to have a good space to do it inside.

I did do a lot of stretching, and yoga.. as well as foam rolling.

I do hope to do more later in the day.
