Things that don't fit anywhere else...

I was a complete slug today. I worked, cleaned house, ran errands, and then watched a movie tonight. Dinner was a salad with red wine. Not TOO many calories.

exercise

Postby scott and becky » Thu Feb 19, 2009 11:15 pm

I got Cabin fever today. I hooked up the tear! We'll head to San Diego tomarrow to ride bikes at the beach and play with the grandkids all weekend. That ought to be enough exercise to wear us out for a while!!

Just got back from a 3.25 mile walk with the dogs. It is sunny and windy today and makes me feel like it is Spring already.

My exercise routine consist of 2 minutes walking in place in front of my little stepper I built out of 3/4 plywood. I start stepping on the stepper for
about 6 minutes changing each leg that I start with after about 25 steps
which equals to about 1 minute. I do this routine once a year for about 30 days right before I go through my stress test. The reason for 10 minutes of exercise is so that I can do 7 to 8 minutes on the treadmill to bring my
heart rate up. I went through my stress test in January.

Exercising for the sake of moving is boring. Walking a mall is boring. Walking my block is boring.......and the dogs are mean.

My idea of exercising is traipsing through the Bass Pro shop or draggin my canoe to the water and paddling. Hiking to one of the strip pits that haven't been used lately to fish is good too. See you have to do that before the ticks and chiggers come out but after it gets warm enough to not freeze if injured.  50* and 60*'s are good. OH and not during hunting season. Don't wanna scare the hunters.

Ok... here I go... accountability ....

I STARTED !!! BRING IT ON !!!! I pushed play, and did the first workout of the p90x which was Chest & Back.
About an hour altogether, after good warmup ... it was full of some weights, pushups, chinups (GOD!!! I got a pullup bar and can actually do about 15 with a toe on a chair!)

Man... it was a workout...but I had a good recovery drink afterwards and I'm doing it !!!
Some things are way over my head !! ...but it keeps me looking UP!

My exercise today started off by going to the notary to swap titles with
someone that wanted my 5 by 10 utility trailer and I got his Jayco popup
camper. I wanted the popup for the trailer. Then I went to McDonalds for
a cup of coffee with my friends for about an hour. I came home and started the real exercise taking all the junk from the stripped down popup
to the junk yard. It took me two trips to the dump with two full truck loads.
When I fimished I sat in my recliner for the cool down nap.

I am getting ready to head out for at least a 3 mile walk. I posted an event on Facebook to several of my friends, so I hope to have company besides my dogs.
