I try not to put too much humor on the forum, but I thought this was cute...

Married man's Harley!

My wife won't let me have a motorcycle either. Something about her being in the medical profession.

My wife would rather me look at another woman than a motorcycle. I wonder if it has anything to do with the pin and wire in my shoulder from the last time I rode?

I used to ride about 20,000 miles a year on my Harleys. Been to about 46 states and 6 provinces on them. Had a nice collection of old ones too. Then I got married again. I took my last long trip up the ALCAN to Alaska (appx 9000 miles in 28 days) in 1992. Got home 2 weeks before the wedding, and haven't put 2000 miles on the bike since. Been slowly selling off my bikes.

Do you have a mid to late 80s FXR for sale?

If not, how about an Evo powered Electra-Glide? I don't want a TC.

Ahh...the good ole days of Harleys!

I remember one time on our way to a big hill climb, riding on the back of Bob's Harley, a six-pack of beer sort of "exploded" that was strapped behind me and gushed all over my back. (At the time, I was probably just bummed we had just lost some of our beer)

The days of Harley's and "too-many-beers" are long over.

Here's a pic of Bob and I with that Harley, that day about 20 some years ago. (I think he was holding my head up for me.. I'd probably had too much to drink)
(Wow, Bob's hair was longer than mine back then!) :o

Davd,

How about an 85 FLHTC with a Screaming Eagle Kit? I have to get it out and put a battery and back tire on it, it's been sitting for a while, but I'm thinking about selling it. Could use the cash to rebuild my 47 Indian Chief.

Hey Bev,
I was just talking with my mechanic today about how miraculous it was that we survived our youth.
Some of the stunts we used to pull...
Thank God some of the laws back then weren't like they are now...

Great picture Bev. It looks like the 70's. I used to build choppers after I got out of the Army in '70 and looked a lot like Bob. Glad to hear you survived too. I don't ride as much as I used to but even tho Sue works in a hospital, she doesn't say much when I still go for a ride. It's a lot less miles nowadays tho....and a lot more careful.

I like the cartoon Mike. I've got a couple of friends that I sent that to.

Harleys

Postby kartvines » Sat Apr 16, 2005 9:09 pm

I rode my 49 El for over a million miles, long and hard for over 20 years, I loved the brotherhood. And for most of my adult life I flew colors. Lost my family, and after a year without them, I returned , grew up and stopped riding. As sad as I am each time I hear a group of bikes ride by feel sad that I am no longer riding. I just can not risk losing my family again in order to ride, and I can not ride without risking wanting to return to that lifestyle that I loved and lived for. Still have my pan, in pieces, just could never give it up, and never could stand anyone else riding her. I miss the runs, the parties, the life. Discovered teardrops, and thought that now that I have grown older, maybe this could be the start of feeling some form of brother hood again. I am still restoring my Scad-A-Bout, and hope that I will be able to find a group of people where I can feel connected to. Only time will tell.
