Things that don't fit anywhere else...

Laredo,

Don't know what kind of tires you have on your truck, but if you will inflate them to 3 pounds over recommended ( 38 lbs in a tire recommended for 35) you will get better fuel mileage and the tires will last longer. The only down side is, you will have a slightly harsher ride, but hey, for the amount you are driving, it just may be worth it.

Starting Monday my daily commute's 110 miles each way.

Laredo,

You must be driving all the way to Amarillo to work! The way I figure it, it will cost you $28 a day just for gas.

Hope the job pays well.

park that truck and get a hybird. unless you are pulling something. my Prius gets 48 to 52 mpg you would only use 2 gal.s aday. I have had my 2002 for 3 years only thing I have reaplaced is the tires.

I vote Toyota. have a truck with 230,000 miles. our Prius and we love them.

Bobgorilla,
the 'mulies' along that commute were Charolais and Hereford/Beefmaster. Um, yep, that'll slow ya down. But I knew they were there.

The pigeon was a total surprise.

SteveH, thanks. They're pretty fresh tires. I'll try that.

Ron,
That's good advice, when I can round up the funds to act on it.

I solved my problem. Later today I pick up my 'new to me' 2004 Buick Rendezvous. I traded in my intrepid on it. It seems that the head gasket is on the brink of going in the car so this seemed like the wisest move.

If I could figure out how to put a pic here I would. You'll just have to visualize a Rendezvous here that is 'Hawaiian tropical sand' in color.

Hey I did it!!! I love my new wheels.

Cathy,

bmp files are not supported here because the file sizes are huge... if you could save that as a jpg, you could post it in a message, with the img tags around it, and it would display!
