My husband and I are super excited about our teardrop and I am on the prowl for great vintage camping gear! Sure hope I find great things like others have found!

So I'm walking around Goodwill and spot a folding table. The legs are nice aluminum. Almost new looking. The round wood top could use a sanding and repaint. But it took me three days to think it would make a great camp table. When I got back there it was gone.

When you see it...BUY it.

Not the biggest item but a very handy one. This is a 50s-60's Ekco one handed mixer. It works very well using a large coffee mug. You can firmly grasp the coffee mug handle in one hand and mix with the other. I got it at the thrift shop for $2.95. The chrome ferrule cup was loose so I used a large amount of epoxy to attach it firmly. .... D.J.

Do you use it by pushing down and up?

Yes. It spins on both the up and down stroke.

An old thread but still a great topic. In the midst of my move out of my house of 24 years to my not so tiny house I took time to respond to a Freecycle offering of handyman items for free. What caught my eye was listed with the goodies was a 4 horse pancake air compressor. As my Bostitch compressor died during the building of my not so tiny house I responded with a plea to be concidered for the offering. Well my phone rang Saturday morning and the kind folks had chosen me as the recipiant.

At noon Sunday as I had scheduled with the family I arrived.

HOLY STROMBOLLIE

There were 7 drywall buckets and 4 totes full of great construction goodies. In the mix was the little compressor and a 16 foot aluminum extention ladder. Drywall tools, painting tools frrom brushes and rollers to roller pans and handles. I could go on forever. About every kind of nail and screw in boxes and jars. Several boxes of pneumatic nails and believe it or not they all fit my guns. All in all if I had to price the entire gift it would be in the $500 - $600 range.

There are at least 10 item I was going to need to purchase this week to work on the new not so tiny house.

A big thank you to the man upstairs :worship: It was a sad weekend moving out of my home of 24 years but good friend to help with the move and fantastic weather in which to do it , then to receive a windfall of items, many of which I had an immediate need was all just to good. It hard to be down when God is smilin' on you.

That tag says $14.99 that's 10.49 plus sales tax.

And a bonus inside  Took me a couple of minutes to figure this one out I had it upside down and folded every which way before I figured out it was a fold down cook top toaster ( it's even a four slicer :D )

Well at least I didn't drive 28 hours to get it :laughter:

My poor old orange and yellow Sears cook top is like an old friend but it is time for his replacement. Only one burner works and it is bent up so bad it barely closes.
It has served me for 7 years and 40 plus gatherings so the $4.95 I gave for it at (where else) Goodwill was money well spent.

Will be a shame to see it go Bob. :( It sure has been used a lot and everything that came from it was delicious!!!!!! :stompspam: Thankfully you do much more than spam. LOL I'm sure you'll enjoy having the extra burner on the new one.

I check Craigslist often, but am usually 3 minutes too late to get the deal...

A month ago I found some old card file cabinets listed for a hundred dollars, they had ten of them.
I'm building a new shop complex for our company, and have been buying cabinets, shelving, etc.
The price was pretty reasonable ;) given that the cabinets generally sell for $250 and up.
The card file cabinets make great parts storage drawers as they have dividers, or, you can remove the dividers and use them as tool boxes.
The drawers are on full extension slides and are very heavy duty!

It was 4:30 Am when I read the ad. The ad showed the location as a desolate area in downtown...maybe a ruse to rob someone? I decided to go ahead and text the seller hoping it was real and that I wouldn't make them upset texting so early.
I got a reply within 20 minutes, asking how quickly I could get there. (for that price and quantity, I couldn't get there fast enough!) I told them within 30 minutes.
I worried the whole time I was hooking up the trailer and getting straps. Then they called and asked if I was coming, I replied I was a couple minutes away.
At that point the fog cleared, as he told me to back up to the loading dock at the public library...whew!

He showed me the cabinets and nervously I handed him a hundred dollars...hoping that the ad was right, and I really was buying all ten for the money.
He took the money and wrote a receipt. It was all ten for the money :applause:

They must have had a couple different ads running, as this one I found after having bought them says ten dollars each.

What a buy! They are worth that as scrap.

Great find!

I had one of those 20 years ago. Great tool cabinet. However, weighed a ton empty! As I was moving a lot at the time, I got tired of moving it and sold it for $40 at a yard sale. Wish I could get it back!
God Bless
