Cruise to Alaska?

Things that don't fit anywhere else...

The wife and I went to AK on Norweigen Cruise Lines. Recomment you don't buy tours on the ship as the cruise line gets a cut. When you get to the port, many folks are there to take you wherever you want to go and cheaper too. Since that cruise, we have been on I think three others and bought them on skyauction.com There you bid. We took a 12 day cruise to Hawaii on the Carnival Spirit stopping at many islands and it cost around $1,600 for both of us then the Panama cruise on the Celebrity Galaxy for 12 days and it cost $1,100 for both of us. Great cruises and food. Plan on gaining weight. The Alaska cruise was casual as were the others but you can make it as formal as you want. Some folks bring everything and are dressed to kill. Others wear cut-offs and never go to a formal dinner, it really depends on what you want. It's fun!

Forgot to mention that the NCL cruise to AK cost $3,000 thru a cruise agent. The other cruises were a LOT less thru skyauction as mentioned before. Also, if you'll go to www.cruisecritic.com they'll answer almost all of your questions about cruising -has a cruise comment area for good or bad comments.
