First time out, It rained

Postby KennethW » Sun Sep 15, 2013 6:32 pm

I had my first camping trip with my newly built teardrop. It towed easy (23mpg at 60mph)with a ford freestyle(Taurus X). Easy to setup. Of course a woody teardrop it always seen. It looked right at home in the wooded camp site.

Good weather first night ,but rain on the second night. I thought it was fun cooking out of the back of the teardrop watching other campers run around to stay out of the rain. It is hard to beat home-fry potatoes and pan fried bacon wrapper pork loin with garden fresh tomatoes. The hatch worked great to keep me dry and when I was done cooking and eating just close the hatch. Make camping to easy  It was a little louder inside in the rain then I thought it would be, but it is nice to be dry. all and all really fun first trip. The teardrop design really work good.

Good for you!

Camping is never perfect, but it sure can be fun with the right attitude

Waiting for "someday" will leave you on your deathbed wondering why you didn't just rearrange your priorities and enjoy the time you had, instead of waiting for a "better" time to come along...

What's the thing on the side? Dressing room? Covered entry?

yes it is a dressing room Or it can be a shower. Easy to use with out the need of ground supports. I put pipes in the roof when I built the camper for that so that a bar pulls out. then you hang a shower curtain

I find it hard to put pants on inside the camper but if you can have your legs outside it's no problem. In a campground the curtain gives lets you change with out having a towel on your lap.

I'm sure the other campers appreciate it.
