This is a photo of a very young Goanna. It was found by Kody in a short length of 3x2 RHS about 30 yards from the house amongst the trees. I don't know what kind of goanna it is but these are very rarely seen on our property. When Kody found it in the RHS, I knew it wasn't a snake or a mouse so an immediate investigation was needed. At this size they are quite harmless and beautiful. It is much smaller when full grown than its big cousin, the Prenti Goanna. The Prenti grows to 8 feet long and has claws and jaws to be reckoned with. After the photos were taken, the little goanna was released on a tree that he then scurried up to safety. These little creatures are so beautiful.
