I've read that egg shells will be thin if the chickens are nervous. That said, you must have some very calm, happy hens!

The eggs I was getting from my FIL were way tougher than the ones from the store. Tasted better too. Maybe Sharon is onto something. For what it's worth, frozen eggs will thaw out and cook up just fine. They do bounce in the skillet when you drop them in, though. You learn the most interesting things winter camping with Boy Scouts.

I'm thinking you are getting weak in your advanced years! :lol:

When laying hens need calcium (oyster shell) in their diet egg shells will get thin, are you feeding them oysters? :shock: Rocky Mountain oysters? :shock:
