Landscapes, and Hardscapes

Postby 48Rob » Sun Jan 26, 2014 10:39 am

Since the fall Frog thread drew so much interest, I'm starting a new one for landscape and hardscape photos.
It has been very enjoyable seeing the photos so far, and I'll bet everyone has a few shots from trips, the backyard, etc.
No rules other than the idea is to post photos you took.
They do not have to be "pro" photos; in fact, amateur photos make it more fun!
Telling where the photo was taken would be a nice touch.
It is winter, cold and bleak for many; pretty outdoor scenes are a nice diversion.

Do you have a photo or two you are proud of?

Harvey,

I do.

We have been several times, really nice place, steeped in "real" wild west history.

September, 2013, Natchez Trace Parkway, near Hohenwald, Tennessee. It's a wonderful trip runs nearly 300 miles from Nashville, Tennessee, and Natchez, Mississippi. There is a great campground near Hohenwald, Tennessee. It is a state park but has only primitive sites and is truly relaxing.

Here are a couple from my Colorado camping trips.

This one of Mt Princeton was taken from just outside our tent at the Buena Vista KOA. One of our favorite places to base camp.

Image

and here is one from a favorite hike to Hanging lake near Glennwood Springs, Colorado

Image

This one is of Mirror lake, near Tipcup, Colorado. A favorite place to off road to in the Jeep and then fish on Labor Day weekend

Image

There are several more in my "Landscapes from Camping Trips" album http://www.tnttt.com/gallery/album.php?album_id=3373

Enjoy

Pictures of interesting places to visit.

This is the Painted Hills in central Oregon. It is located in the Painted Hills Unit of the John Day Fossil Beds Nat'l Monument. The location is just off Hwy 26. The nearest camping is a NFS Campground near Ochoco Summit on Hwy 26, about 25 miles west. It's a unique and interesting place. Good for a few hours visit, not all day. Hotter than the hinges of hades on a mid-July summer day.
