Very hard hardscape.

Lewis Lodges, UT

Anasazi ruins off the beaten track. Not discovered by white folks until the 1950's.

It's a hike down and across cliff face. Follow the red line. About 1 1/2 miles off nearest forest service road.

One of the Anasazi buildings there

Top of Piute Pass, UT. Hwy 95 off to far left; near Fry Canyon Lodge on Hwy 95

Looking southwards from top of Piute Pass. Cell coverage thanks to tower on distant mountain above my head in the haze. Peak is in AZ.

Great shots MtnDon. One of the hardest things to do when photographing off roading is to show how steep an obstacle is. You have done well. That is a steep climb! Beautiful shots and some place I will try to get to with my Jeep some time.

Woodbutcher, steep but the "grippy" sandstone makes it almost easy. A good 4x4 helps too as do lockers. :D

I envy you Don. I have to drive a good distance for anywhere to offroad. We have mostly rock and mud in the midwest. Not much scenic beauty included. Thanks for the links. I will investigate them!

Sorry to send the thread off track. Here is Firehole Canyon State Park. It is located in the south west corner of the Ashley Forrest in Wyoming. A truly beautiful spot.
