Monument near Saratoga Springs, NY in honor of Gen. Gates' (Revolutionary Army) defeat of British Gen. Burgoyne in 1777.

Just about all that is left of early Champlain Canal. Getting beyond rapids on the Hudson River near Schuylerville, NY. It connected Lake Champlain to the Hudson River. 1800 construction dates.
