Los Pinos River, taken from the open car aboard the Cumbres & Toltec train out of Antonito:

I messed with the contrast a bit in Picasa, mainly to reproduce the sun highlight of the camp as I remembered it in real life.

This train trip is one of my favorites, the variety of scenery ranges from high desert to alpine. Plenty of good camping along the Conejos River west of Antonito. In fact, this tent trip was the inspiration for me to build a Teardrop...

Half Dome in Yosemite from the back side from last summers trip.

and this one from Bryce We went on a two week spring break camping trip a few years ago. Went south from Colorado to New Mexico then across Arizona to Las Vegas and then back to Colorado through Utah and hit almost all of the National Parks in Utah Just a little bit cold but very solitude and lots of fun. The kids loved it. Hope to do again someday with the teardrop this time.

Friend of ours Jack Lee (aka Sand Draw Jake) took us on an 'expedition' to the site of his family's old 'homestead' near Sand Draw, WY. The old house still stands tho most of the other outbuildings are gone. Entrance to the root cellar is between me & the house...
