George Strait farewell? concert 6-7-14

Normally I don't comment on social matters, nor about most entertainment happenings, but I just got home from George Strait's farewell performance at A T & T Stadium (Jerry World) in Arlington. Great concert, great guests, great music from the opening act by "Asleep at The Wheel" to the finale, over five hours later; glad I was there. Not glad if George really "rides away", but glad that he could go out on top. I've been a fan for over 20 years (attending big shows), and my wife for over 30 years (attending small club shows, collecting every recording...). We hope he'll still continue in a smaller way, and only quit the mega-performances, but we'll always be fans.

+1 on more from George Strait. He just stands out there and sings solid gold, nothing more and nothing less.

In the mid seventies, I heard my first rap song. I didn't like it and so I did a 180 and have only listened to oldie goldies since. Course they are ancient now, but music from the 50's, 60's and 70's is still the best to me.

One exception is a cd a friend made for me of all her favorite George Strait songs. It's in the car stereo 24/7. Knowing this, another friend wanted to take me to a concert of his. I looked on line and told her no. Cheapest tickets were $300 each and they would be the first to go.
