Just an update to those of you who were following my journey into all of this... my medication was changed to jaunamet and a week and a bit later my numbers are fairly steady around 5-8 witch is pretty well normal range.
Dr said he's super impressed at how well I've responded to it and that my pancreas is still working fairly well.
I'm not enjoying the restraints on my diet/lifestyle but it's easier to deal with now I'm seeing results

Just read the thread.

Shortly after migrating from the US to Australia in 2002, I was diagnosed with diabetes.
My symptoms was excessive peeing, blurry vision. A visit to the local Dr office showed 16 glucose level.
I started on Metforim, and about 5 years ago blood pressure and cholesterol as well.
When I do right - diet, meds and exercise, my numbers are 6-8. My weight is about 15 kg too high as well. Carbs are my biggest weakness!

I am learning more now than I did over the past 12 years.

This link is: Blood Sugar 101 What they don't tell you about diabetes http://www.phlaunt.com/diabetes/16422495.php
*Note: you have to decide what you believe online.

I am also starting the LCHF (low carb healthy fat) diet.

I am willing to share ideas on how to manage/reduce my diabetes.
