Health up date...

Postby Spotman » Wed May 27, 2015 5:36 pm

Some of you knew I have been waiting to get an operation, here is the up date:

On Thursday 21MAY2015, I finally went in and had my back operation, been suffering for a few years where as the pain shots no longer helped! I saw a Lazer Specialist, He removed some bone from my L3-4 and L4-5 and excess fat around spine that was causing constant pinching of my Sciatica in the left leg. Pain constantly running down from my waist to my toes. It was time, now time to get relief.

Besides the medically induced "Drug" relief, the next day the tingly feelings went away, yep, went away. I am not saying this was a miricle cure, but close!

Even with meds, there is still the healing process to learn how to walk normaly and gain strength.

Thanks for all the prayers and kind thoughts...

Nice to hear from you. I am facing a very similar situation.

Well, I have been up and around for a few days. The only thing I feel is the scar itching. No more pain in the legs! BUT, I would not wish the pain of the first week after the operation on anyone, seriously! But worth it.

In two weeks I get to see my surgeon to check my progress. I know I have to take it easy for a while, getting some good walking in but will feel exhausted after about an hour on my feet. I just have the need to get back to work on things around here, especially some mods I want to make. But I am not going to push it. First big trip is 7 hour drive in July camping.

:? Today my wife had me going from Mall to Mall to find something for her to wear for a wedding next weekend. I think she is in "cahoots" with the Dr. to keep me walking a lot. Boy, do I feel it today. Now she went out by herself to continue looking for the "RIGHT" one! I will rest up with my Doxies while she is out. I want to re-do the bed in the CT before the July trip. (Virginia Creeper). Looking forward to that one.

This is good news Bob.
I have fallen twice in the last two weeks, one off of a ladder working on the CT. Both times I landed on my back right below the surgical area. I masked the pain real well with meds. But my previous disk pain is actually better. Is it possilbe to make things better by landing on them? Well that is the question for the doc next week.

I am working hard to have the CT ready for the Creeper camp out. It might mean sleeping on the floor on an air mattress with the interior partially finished.. See you there.
