Verizon SMS APP

Postby MtnDon » Tue Dec 22, 2015 3:03 pm

If you use Verizon as your cellular provider, there is a desktop app available that lets you use a PC to send and receive text messages. Maybe an Apple too but I don't have one and can't say if there is or not. But you can go tothis webpageand download the App to your Windows PC. Try the link on a Mac and see.

You can send text messages with a real full size keyboard! There is an App in the Play Store for Android tablets too. My non-phone tablet can send and receive text messages too, using a wi-fi connection. All text messages go thru the cell phone number of course.

You can usually "email" text messages as well. I know the address for AT&T phones is <ten digit phone number>@txt.att.net. I'm sure other carriers have similar addresses. With that address, you can text to someone's phone from anywhere you have access to email.
