I am getting ready to wire my trailer and am wondering if this is the type of inverter I need? http://www.pplmotorhomes.com/parts/rv-c ... verter.htm

...highly thought of in RV circles...be sure to get the charge wizard for proper battery charging...a couple of alternatives

also keep in mind that all of these are converters(120vac ti 12vdc) as opposed to inverters(12vdc to 120vac)...

If you're indeed looking for an inverter, the device you selected won't do the job. The device you provided a link to is a converter. It converts 110VAC to 12VDC and recharges your batteries.

An inverter basically does the opposite. It converts your 12VDC into 110VAC and sucks the life out of your batteries.

Having said that, Xantrex is one of the companies that makes an inverter/charger which basically serves both functions. You'll find this type of device in motorhomes and larger trailers.
