Questions for KIpor/Honda 2000 folks...

Postby kayakrguy » Tue Sep 18, 2007 5:06 pm

Hi Everyone,

After our trip to Newfoundland where we found that Provinical and National Parks in Newoundland did not offer electrical hookups--had to go to private/some municipal campgrounds for that--I am seriously looking at generators.

Those of you with the 2000 series Honda/Kipor gennies: Could you charge battery and run AC at the same time?

The window shaker I have is rated at 9 amps. Kipor website rates their 2000 at 8.3 amps....doesn't sound like a match? What is your experience?

I have a Honda EU2000i. I haven't tried my A/C and charger at the same time. The honda is rated @ AC Output 120V 2000W max. (16.7A) 1600W rated (13.3A). It has a max surge of 2000 watts.

The Honda has a separate 10 amp DC output for charging batteries - I'm certain it will run most small window shakers and put 10 amps into your batteries at the same time

Got a Kipor 2K genset and a 5K btu window shaker. It runs the a/c fine. Tired a worse case and short cycled the a/c gen didn't like it but it pulled it out.
