Ventilation other than a Fantastic Roof Vent

I like them, the quality is awesome, had 'em in my Snap On truck for years.

But in my future 4' a 8' Benroy copy, I want to put a roof rack on it to carry boats or stuff, and am wondering if there is anyone who has come up with alternatives to moving air through and out the trailer. I'm not talking little desktop type circulators - something to pull air into or out of the unit.

I'll have opening windows in the doors with screens, but want something powered to keep air moving as well.

I'm toying with the idea of oversized computer fans, the 120mm 12V quiet versions. They move 50CFM silently (not near what a roof vent is capable of) but figuring one on each sidewall up high on the sides, but towards the front. The trick is finding exterior rain covers - something to allow airflow, screened for bugs, but keeping rain out. Maybe a JC Whitney type plastic hood scoop turned open end down?

Anyways, just looking for ideas, suggestions, concerns, etc. Thanks!

I mounted my Fantastic Vent Vertically on the front wall as shown in the photo below:



It works fine.

We use an Endless Breeze:


Its basically a box fan made out of a Fantastic Fan motor and fan. It has tabs on handle so you can hang it in front of a window. We hang it on the window so the air blows directly across us. Works great.

Because the Fantastic Fan is too large to mount in my roof, and I wasn't confident in my ability to waterproof the opening, I installed a computer fan behind one of the side vent louvers in my trailer. It moves enough air to prevent condensation on the bare metal parts of the walls and door on cold nights (such as last night when it got down to 38F.)

The computer fan uses little power and can be run continuously on battery power. Mine is rated at 60 CFM, but I don't really believe the rating.

We use Ventline VP-543 12V Smoke Van Roof Air Vent aand again diode it down to slower speed. This vent takes about a 61/2" hole.

I used a non powered rv vent and built in speed controlled computer fans, I hardly ever feel the need to run them on high speeds so don't worry about moving enough air. Most that use regular RV fans post trying to figure how to slow down their fan. Plus, the computer fans use VERY little battery resources.
