LED Worklight

Just picked one of these up and it's BRIGHT! [39.99 at Tooltown] And I'm thinking I might take it apart,[since it has screws...] since it's rechargalbe (and comes with an AC charger) and use it as a gallery light.....

Specs for all those electricians out there:

78 LED(15000mcd) Lights
It has 2 settings; low (half the LED's come on) and high (all 78 come on)

I was thinking the exact same thing, but my wife seems to think it would look "redneck" hanging above the sink and stove. I suggested that might match the trailers occupants, but that did not fly.

I may get one despite her concerns. Since my galley is indoors, this could also be grabbed and used as a flashlight for late night potty runs or what have you.

Well I am still looking for a bright light for my galley so I would love to see how you do it Ken. Yeah, I'm a redneck :R

Oh Bruces thing is here:

The way he did it is interesting. You might be able to build a wood light the same way.

I'm with Ken, if they didn't want you to take it apart they wouldn't have put screws in it.

LED Light 6 FEET above paper (Image cropped to fit max. image size...)

I have some halegon lights I bought a while ago....I might try putting the LED's into one of them to see what the diffusion is like.....but at 6 feet it's pretty good, compared to the light being 2 feet above the paper.

This is the ebay seller I got my LED strips from. I used amber strips for porch lights mounted under my doors, but you could use white LED strips for lighting other areas.

They are 12v, bright, water resistant and not too expensive.

Hey Ken, you could go all out and mount it with duct tape......
Those things are as bright as a 747's landing lights---yikes...

Jim,

Thanks for the link to the strip light. I think I'll give then a try.

Sometimes the seller has an option for "Best Offer". I got two for $28 and combined shipping. I paid 40.90 for two delivered. Good customer service and several e-mails from them.
